About Garden Glory

The idea came to me when we moved into our very first house on the Swedish west coast.

To see the house was to love it. Charming and inviting, it had a lovely patio and a stunning garden. A wonderful outdoor environment where we could see ourselves surrounded by the warmth of friends and family.

But then I spotted it – that dull green garden hose, with its orange connectors and rusty wall bracket that just screamed “Ugly! Ugly! Ugly!”. It pulled me from my daydream.

We decided to buy the house on one condition: the garden hose had to find a new home. My suggestion: in the garbage … I set out to buy a new hose.

I searched everywhere for a finer one – with a white tube, perhaps, which I thought would match the house perfectly.
And everywhere it was the same sad story: green, green, green and orange, and giant ugly wall mounts.

About A2 living

A2 Living - established in 2009 - is a minor, trendy, and up-to-date danish interiour company that is for sure very different-thinking. While always being down to earth we still take pride in our own designed products, all of which comes with that little special and different detail/finish that is so often demanded - but very rarely seen.
It is exciting and well thought out items in a raw, rustic, and simple nordic design. It is solid and long-lasting products that we, A2 Living, take enormous pride putting our name to - in brief, danish design that works…

The significant - and at times quite big - products of A2 Living can be found in the most trendy shops operating within the businesses of interior, lifestyle, furniture, furnishing, arts, and flower/garden design. Stores and businesses where customers seek a very unique and different quality product, a product matching the simple and modern style of home decoration - this being both for indoor decoration and outdor decoration in gardens, on terrraces, and on balconies.
The "rustic" materials such as iron, copper, and concrete are combined with the "warm" materials such as recycled wood, cork, and rattan - and, hence, unites the expression and establishes a recurring theme throughout the entire product catalogue.

I come from a little village in the middle of Finland – I grew up surrounded by forests, lakes and – all things made of wood. As I worked in the advertising industry during the millennium and searched for a producer to furnish public spaces, I was fascinated by the small but unbelievably talented craftsmanship in wooden furniture. My dream was to turn this ancient craftsmanship and Nordic wood into design that would be reachable to all people and bring the Finnish and Estonian legacy of wood to be known all over the world.

With two friends of mine I started to tinker different wooden items, experimenting with doors, stairs, windows… Our first sellable products were wooden cutting boards and terrace deck modules. As we cut the wood, thin wooden bars were left as leftovers. We used to burn the leftovers for heating, but pretty soon we started to produce wooden chairs from those leftover bars. This is how EcoChair got invented. The name EcoChair was self-evident –leftovers were turned into something useful. EcoChair was the cornerstone of our production from the very beginning – and still is.

After years of trial and error, some setbacks, a bit of luck, EcoFurn was founded in 2009. Nowadays we have over 20 different wooden products in various wood types and colours. In addition to our own EcoFurn products, we produce our customers’ own wooden repertoires. We have grown from a tiny carpenter shop to an international enterprise, which employs 50 people in Finland and in Estonia. Our products are available in over 40 countries all over the world.

Swedish sheepskins from Karlsbergs Gård

First and foremost, sheepskins are beautiful to look at, and they have a plush surface that feels pleasant to the touch and they add luxury and comfort to any environment.

Sheepskin is a wonderful natural material with unsurpassed qualities; air circulates in pure wool in a manner which cools when it is hot and warms when cold, making sheepskins practical all year round. Sheepskins also absorb moisture, making them especially suitable for small children.

Sheepskin's naturally crimped fibers form a springy, cushioned support that relieves pressure points. With its ability to retain heat and draw away moisture from the skin, sheepskins have the ability to enhance comfort in both home and in care environments.

Thanks to the Nordic climate, sheep that graze on fields in Sweden produce wool with especially fine qualities and it is the grey Gotland Pelt sheep breed that is the most sought after. In Sweden, sheepskins are typically used as throws, where they drape over armchairs and sofas, and as rugs on the floor.

Karlsbergs Gård

Karlsbergs Gård is located in Hjo in Sweden and is a farm owned by us two, Susanne and Sven-Ove Flykt. We keep around 450 ewes, which are raised to full organic standards and raise between 800-900 lambs each year.

Now 2017-18, we finish this sheep/lamb production. But we are going further with selling Swedish lamb skins; from the last lamb from our own farm, and  sheepskins brought in from other Swedish farms, which is how we can offer a constant supply and such wide range of sheepskins. The sheepskins available are from a number of breeds including Swedish Finewool, Gotland Peltsheep and Leicester, as well as mixed breeds
